It’s been about a year and a half since Ugandan songbird Juliana Kanyomozi gave birth to a bouncing baby boy and she has been super tight lipped about the whole thing. Recently though on her YouTube channel, she finally opened up to her fans about the birth of her baby, Taj and the difficulties she faced during and after pregnancy. It came as quite a shock to some because of how private Kanyomozi is about personal details of her life.
She begun by claiming that she and her family had been praying for her to fall pregnant for so long hence the moment she found out about her pregnancy, it was a very delightful time of her life. We’ve all been there; when you’ve been praying for something you so desire for the longest time ever and finally God answers you! Whew! The joy you feel honestly can’t be put in words. So a huge number of us can relate to her in this context, but in praying to be a mother, and you finally get that answered! Must really be beautiful.
“It was in 2019 when I got the news that I was pregnant. I remember it was a very emotional moment. It took me a while to believe. I would wake up in the morning and I am like ‘Really? Am I? Is something there?’ It was very personal. My family and I prayed for this for a very long time. We thank God that he listened to our prayer and gave us a baby who is now about a year and half,” she said.
Early 2020 was no picnic for all of us and Juliana is not an exception. According to her, that was around the time she left Uganda for Canada. She was to be joined by her sister and the father to her son, Taj, but unfortunately the country was locked down which restricted travel so they couldn’t join her. The horror of being pregnant in a foreign country, alone during winter season and as if that’s not bad enough, the lockdown tops it all; that’s distress I wouldn’t want to imagine myself going through.
Being the enduring woman she is, she pulled through all this. She added that having her son has been a ray of light during the struggles of the pandemic.
“Next there was a lockdown in winter in a foreign country, pregnant and alone. My sister and Taj’s father were supposed to come, but they got locked down here and I was over there. I do not have friends in Canada. I managed to do everything on my own, go to the grocery store with Taj in a stroller. I was comfortable. I came back here at the beginning of the year,” she recounted.
I believe the phrase “Pray for it then prepare for it” is something we’re all familiar with and maybe it applies here really well. It’s easy praying for offspring but the actual responsibility that hits you when you get it; IMMENSE! Just honestly happy for her and her bundle of joy.
The baby’s face and identity of the baby daddy are still hidden from the public though, and if you ask me, that’s a safe approach to take as a celebrity/public figure.
