Local musician BigEye had a challenge performing for revellers at the There For Etetta concert at the Jahaz Pier in Munyonyo last weekend. Revellers did not allow BigEye stage time as they chased him away with bottles.
BigEye blames the negative reactions towards him on politics. He took to his social media to ask music lovers to open a new chapter since the “politics is behind us”
“Please Free Me, Politics ended. Let me do my job,” he wrote on social media. He followed it up with a post that asked National Unity Platform leader, Bobi Wine to talk to his fans about such behaviour.
“Now which kind of Uganda does National Unity Platform want if your selves can not practice democracy. Which wrong did I do to support Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and National Resistance Movement – NRM? I challenge you Hon Bobi Wine if you believe in democracy to come out and speak to your supporters and tell them to separate music from politics. Let them stop attacking me when performing on stage. On stage am doing my official Job. It’s now scaring my promoters and partners in the business and affecting my carrier.”
It was not the first time BigEye was facing such unwelcoming revellers. In 2020, he was pelted with bottles at Spice Diana’s concert at Freedom City.
