Yvonne Kushe Releases Maiden Album

Songstress Yvonne Kushe has released her maiden music album dubbed, Kushe Unchained. She dropped the album on Saturday and hosted friends, media personalities and a few of her fans at Saba Onomo Hotel in Nakasero for a special listening.

Celebrating the milestone, Kushe said she had married the love of her life, “I finally married the love of my life last night in the most beautiful ceremony. Music and I are so excited for this next chapter of our life together,” she wrote on her Twitter, accompanying the post with pictures in which she was draped in a wedding gown which she wore at the launch. She said the gown was to symbolize that she had married her passion

Her musical journey, she said has not been a smooth sail, but she is more than confident that brighter days have now started. “I never thought recording this album would be possible. I had to let go of my insecurities. There were many voices in my head, but I got over them.”

The album covers subjects about heartache, healing, feminism, loneliness, and resilience. The album will be available for purchase on online streaming platforms soon

Kushe has been singing and writing music since my teenage years in boarding school, according to her bio on her website.

She has featured on stages such as the LABA Festival Uganda, SoFar Kampala, Harambecouver, and Carnival Del Sol in Vancouver, Canada. She is responsible for songs like, Kanywani, Take to Africa, Kulikayo and many others.
