Musician Eddy Yawe has said that if he was to turn back time, he would not have tried his hands at politics. It can be recalled that Yawe contested for MP in the 2016 elections, gunning to unseat Kira MP Ssemujju Nganda.
Yawe says he invested a lot of resources to get victory which did not come through. “Nothing good comes out of politics. I wish I never joined politics. It adds nothing good to anything,” he said in an interview with a local TV.
Yawe says he sold a lot of his property to finance the political ambitions, and it didn’t pay. He has since decided to concentrate his energies on music and other business ventures. His brothers Bobi Wine and Chairman Nyanzi are renowned political figures. Bobi leads a party, the National Unity Platform.
