A legend named Mowzey Radio

From the days of Jeniffer and Bread and Butter to Nakessa and beyond, Moses Nakintije Ssekibogo will always be remembered and appreciated to say the least.

It’s been 4 years since not only the music industry, but Uganda too, lost a gem in the passing of Mowzey Radio. And because of the numerous wonderful things Radio did during his lifetime, some have decided to coin January the month of Mowzey Radio and in his memory; his achievements will be celebrated by some while we decided to write about  him and a few of his outstanding personalities.

Radio was born Moses Nakintije Ssekibogo on the 25th of January in 1985 in Busoga. I reckon not so many people around him during his early childhood knew they were in the presence of profound talent, or what was yet to become that in Uganda, Africa and the world at large.

It’s not every day that you raise a child in Uganda and have him be among the top vocalists in Africa, be nominated for a BET award and most of all, add so much character to a whole country’s music industry from his very first song. On top of that, he was one of the most astounding song writers this country had ever witnessed and he remains a legend that many still look up to. True he isn’t with us anymore, but he definitely still lives among us through his revolutionary music.

Music wasn’t his only achievement though. Radio was a great human being to so many that deserved him. He was a good father, an amazing lover, an excellent friend, a wonderful son and a pure hearted man all round. You don’t forget a an irreplaceable gem like him.

A true blessing to those he graced his presence with. May his soul continue to rest in peace and power!
