Let Me Finish What I Started—Cindy on UMA Bid

Dancehall artiste Cindy Sanyu is vying for another term in office as the president of the Uganda Musicians Association. Cindy was nominated on Monday at the Uganda National Theatre and she will tussle it out with King Saha who was also successfully nominated.

Speaking to journalists after the nomination, Cindy said she was ready to serve and continue her reign. She asked musicians to support her as she has already been tested.

Cindy said she was mostly interested in another term because she wants to complete what she started. She has been president for two years.

“We still have a lot to do. There are many projects that we have been working on, like copyright law and more. I need some more time to finish. Last year, there were many fights in the industry so I decided to take a step back. That’s why some people said they could not approach me. This year is for reconciliation. I am going to reach out to different people to mend fences,” she said
