Pia Pounds sets off New Year with new song Wuuba!

I’m no singer but one thing I do know is no artiste wants to be known or remembered as a one hit wonder, and believe me Uganda has a lot of those. I guess we have God to thank for the fact that Pia Pounds left that bracket early this year when she dropped her latest crowd favorite Wuuba.

Famous for her song Tupaate, many concluded that this was the last that would be heard of Pia Pounds. But lo and behold, she surprised many with her crowd celebration anthem Wuuba. It’s basically a song acknowledging the success that Tupaate brought her and a somewhat insight into her struggle to the favorable outcome she is enjoying now.

Wuuba is a Luganda word that can be vaguely translated as Wave. Plausible, because in the song, she urges fans and listeners to wave their hands in the air (like they just don’t care) and practically dance away their worries and bad times, because when else will you celebrate your struggle? She really is Ugandan because this is definitely something her countrymen appreciate and vibe to. The video directed by Swangz Avenue’s Marvin Musoke is a quite the exhilarating kind too with all the high energy dances.

This dancehall masterpiece is packed with catchy afro beats and it’s an outstanding upbeat song recounting a hard knock life story that ends triumphantly and this is put interestingly with the phrase “Tuva Musuuka”, a phrase that metaphorically means the early bird catches the worm so in other words, hustle.

This song couldn’t have come out at a more perfect time because Ugandans are readily warming up for music shows and concerts they’ll get to enjoy in the night life, and as expected, Pia will be on the Most Wanted list of artistes at shows.  Cheers to that.
