Last week, musician Winnie Nwagi had the rare chance to perform before the Katikiro of Buganda, Owekitibwa Peter Mayiga at the Afrigo Band concert.
During her performance, Nwagi paused to go over to where Katikiro was seated and enjoying her music, and they shared kind words.
The Katikiro appreciated Nwagi for doing good music, and encouraged her to continue singing.
Katikiro’s compliments wowed Nwagi, and when she spoke with the media she said, “I am really happy that important people like the Katikiro appreciate me. I have many people who criticize me, but if Mayiga likes my music, I feel encouraged to keep doing what I do,”
Nwagi is largely criticized for her unkindness towards fans and her carefree dress code.
